Come to Atlas and we'll put you in a wide body, guaranteed. Delta, you'll be in one of their "light twins" initially (88,73,319/20). Seniority, seniority....well you get the picture.

I believe a lot of the foreign carriers don't care if you were military or civilian and will hire you directly to the left seat of a heavy if you have time in type. Pretty sure we have like 0 777s and maybe 1 or 2 747s in the USAF so probably not applicable to most military pilots.

Seeing as we have the 2 most famous 747's on the planet (Air Force One--flown by 2 identical airplanes with matching hangars at Andrews), it's definitely more than 1. I believe the number is 6 when you add in the E-4's.

Lots of DAL new hires going into the 75/76. To the OP...Is flying a wide body more important than pay?

At UPS the 747 is a junior aircraft because of the ANC domicile. There's a good chance you'll be flying a 747 or MD-11 in Anchorage as a new hire at UPS.

Like I mentioned in my original post, I just heard rumors and read posts' elsewhere regarding my question. Not anywhere close to getting out yet, just seeking some info.

Short answer is, it depends. It depends on which company you are looking at.

In general, most passenger carriers don't care.

Some cargo companies may have classes for pilots who have a certain background so they can put them on the certain type of plane.
