East Coast here followed by NASKW SAR. Ended up with ATP before turning the C-12 over to the Marines years ago. Another west coast 60B guy out here in class as well. Army H-60 and Marine H-46 guy too. There is hope for those with some multi time...

At the time it happened to be open, each company is gonna be different, also depends where you rank in your hiring class, most use age I think, older guys first.

Hey McKelvie - We sound similar excepting the coast we were on. Love your picture--it looks very familiar. H-46's west coast followed by the H-3 at NASWI SAR...C-12 story the same. I took it to 20 and retired - am just finishing training and have IOE next week with my regional. Seems like a solid plan - we'll see.

Seems like a few of us spotted around the Regionals these days. Photo was from an Air Show we did at NASKW years ago with Army Special Forces guys. First Air Show there in 20+ years or so at the time. Loved the flying down there!

Still in training myself. Another month or so with Sims, LOFT, differences and then hopefully starting IOE late August.

I was a Mayport 60B guy that switched to E2s after my JO tour.

In a Navy cockpit from 2002-2012, worked for an oil company 2012-2014, then ISR contracting in King Air 300/350s from 2014-?

Had about 820 Navy helo (710 or so 60B/F, 110ish 57s) plus a metric butt ton of civil helo time.

Got about 130 T-34 hours, plus 106 in the T-45, then 50 in the T-44.
780 in the E-2, then got 2XFOS.

Pushing up on 1500 ME Turbine, still no calls.. I'm not sure what the magic combination is.

I've seen Harrier/Hornet guys with 1501 hours get the call, and very very little ME time in the case of the Harrier guys.

I've seen P3/E2/C130 guys not get called with 3000 hours ME FW Turbine, with 1500 of it PIC.

Do what is best financially for you and your family..... Regional pay scale is tough to make a living on and not required to be looked at by a major.

As noted before currency is key whether it be mil or regional. There is no magic formula to crack the cyber barrier to get looked at so don't trap yourself in a route that you don't want or can't afford.

Several friends didn't go regional and got hired by a major by staying in the reserves, all rw backgrounds. Some other friends went regional and still waiting for a call.... Again no sure fire route to get the call. If there was then someone would be selling it by now.

T6 is great option and the lack of ME time doesn't mean anything.....

Think, pray and talk it over with family and make an informed decision. Let me know if you have questions.

Do you have any good contacts with pilots already in the majors? That is your conduit, there are huge stacks at all companies, getting your resume pulled from it is the key.
Anyone you've flown with and is in the airline should be able to extend a rope ladder.
Best of luck!

Sadly not a lot of guys I know at the Airlines that actually flew with me. Don't know a single 60B bubba or any E2 bubbas there currently.. Squadron mates at the Regionals but none at majors.
