The F-35B/C has a pod with about 220 rds.

I think a gun with 5-6x the amount of ammunition, delivering 2.5x the punch, might do a better job.
How many jigowatts is that?

As a retired ARNG signal officer who served with infantry and armor units, we always liked seeing A-10s as our CAS platforms. Following that, a Cobra gunship followed closely by an Apache.

I'm sure the JSF can do this no problem.

The wingman, "Metro" shares, or at least shared that call sign with a CO ANG F16 pilot. Are pilots of separate platforms allowed to have the same callsign?

And this;

Hard to tell how many passes each guy did.

I'll take Hogs watching over our boys any day. The F-35 is just another attempt at a "one plane for all missions" boondoggle Congress loves so much.

I know it was just a game but in Falcon 3, those A-10 bullets would tear stuff apart. I assume they tried to model it correctly.

Callsigns are created locally in your squadron, usually due to a humorous (and embarrassing) flying or social gaffe, or a pun out of your name (example: we named a guy "Judy" because his last name is Garland (he's a General now).

They follow you to your next squadron. They rarely change.

Because they are random, it is possible for multiple duplicates to happen.

A-10: my friends who fly the Hawg say total gun time is 15-20 seconds. A strafe pass is about 2-3 seconds. That's 6-9 passes in combat by my math.

F-35?

ONE.

Years ago 100 rds was a pretty good burst. I'd guess 40-70 was more typical if you were trying to hang around for more passes.

Former squadron mate is known for big strafe passes. I don't know the bullet count but it has to be in the 200+ count. Looooong bursts on the HUD tape.
