Sure am glad this thread didn't devolve into something completely different than the title--and completely unhelpful for people trying to make decisions in their lives!

Relax Francis! Btw, who makes life changing decisions based on info found on a web forum?

The thread title doesn't even accurately describe the OP, anyway.

If you have a specific question you're looking for insights about, then ask it.

How many hours do you get credited for on international legs when the crew swaps out mid-flight? Credit the whole way or just when you are operating in the seat?

The crew gets the same, from parking brake to parking brake. That's why some call it 'dozing for dollars'.

That depends on what you're getting "credited" for. Pay? All. Consolidation? two-thirds on 3-pilot crew, half on 4-pilot crew.

I'm a little over a year out from retirement and my squadron is heading down range. Just wondering if anyone has had or heard of anyone getting the interview call while deployed? Apps have been in a couple of months now and I don't have any interview offers currently, but don't know how the majors will react to "I can make it in a few months...".

You are not the first deployed military guy to get called to interview; they'll work with you.

Depends upon when you list your availability. You definitely want to be up front with them when and if they call to schedule you for an interview. Most apps have an area under the questions section, where you can "Provide any additional info that you would like us to consider." Might be better to explain your deployed situation in one of those blocks so they know not to call you when you are OCONUS.
