That is different than my timeframe.
NO ONE in the squadron life complete EWS prior to going. If you got a FAC tour instead of school or a training command tour - then you didn't correspondence EWS, otherwise you knocked it out in resident.

Now the ground guys were ALL EWS complete before going to school when I was with 1Bn/2dMar. It was basically expected of them, but they had a lot of time to knock that out in their daily training schedules during garrison life.

That's the plan, unfortunately there is no longer a golden handshake. A Maradmin was released stating that if guys are passed over, they then go to a continuation board. If the board assesses that they are needed, they can accept 3 year orders, remain in rank, and after that commitment is filled are elibible for separation pay.

A lot of guys see accepting an additional three years guarantees you for an IA... But time will tell. Guys who left their first fleet tour as wingmen, are now coming back to the fleet due to manning. That would have never happened before, so we'll see how this all works out.

rule #27 of smart military pilot life: Never take the devil's money. Rule #28: Always, always, decline continuation.

You're welcome.
