Navy cutoff for non-prior enlisted pilot is 27, but I think NFOs can apply up to 35 or so. Get on Navy.com and find an officer recruiter. NFO would get you in the plane and in the air, but not flying it unfortunately. Depending on the platform you select you would be in the backseat of an F-18 or back in the tube of an E-2, among other options.

Route would be to finish your degree then go to OCS in Newport, RI. Then API training in Pensacola, FL, and onward from there. If you're interested in that you can PM me, I went the pilot route but we parallel trained with NFO's for a while and I still keep in touch with a few of them. Again it would get you in the air but you wouldn't be the one flying it.

GTS, (Google That ****). Find unit POC's. Anyone called Operations Officer or Pilot Training or Recruiting would be a good place to start.

Call and be prepared to go meet with them. If not invited directly, invite yourself for their next "drill weekend" of unit event. Are they coming to and an airshow near you or involved with one? Go talk to them--now. Its airshow season.

Look into flying C-17's C-130's, KC's or anything fat and ugly. (Insert mom joke here). They wont be as demanding on age as the pointy guys. If piloting doesn't work out, trying being a crew chief or getting in as a mech to get your A&P working on planes. Being a C-17 crew member would still be cool.

If you aren't on you way to meet someone by the end of this week, you are doing it wrong. Your heart is in the right place. Haul ass, you're not too late yet.

Reserves seems to take in older applicants than the Guard does. Guard seems to be hiring for slots in future fiscal years whereas the Reserves are continuously hiring. For the reserves, you need to find your region Officer Accessions Recruiter (not the same thing as a normal recruiter) they will guide you through the application process and attempt to find a unit to sponsor you (interview). However, you can meet the AFRC pilot selection board unsponsored and they will place you in a unit based on manning requirements after your graduate UPT. 27 is definitely not to old for my unit, as long as you will be in your last semester of your 4 year degree in time to meet the AFRC board and make UPT by your 30th birthday. Like others mentioned, these units aren't going to seek you out, you have a lot of legwork to do and need start after you close your web browser.
