You and me both man. There is a day that goes by since 2014 that I don't feel like I hit the lottery with that VSP. Zero part of me wants to go back. The grass is in fact a whole lot greener.

A few come to mind...

War on Drugs
War on Poverty
War on Carbon
War on Terror
War on Middle Class
War on Gun Owners
War on Crime

All wars unable to triumph in, these are the wars of our generation, politicians love redundant wars.

That said, I still am proud of the guys that patrol the skies...

Safe travels...Sushi

Trying to fix a problem with the head up the sphincter...a vicious cycle that will never end.

You are the type of person who believes that countries across the world sing songs and hold hands. You couldn't be more wrong. Without having a strong military as a deterrent, our way of life is in danger.

This details almost perfectly everything that is wrong with the Air Force and the root of all problems.

Seagulls who hide behind the desk are the true warriors. Jets don't move until the paperwork gets done, didn't you know?! SOS, ACSC, and AWC are the ultimate source of super powers so potent that you can even bend far enough to kiss your own sphincter.

It's not a problem of getting people...it's keeping them. And it takes over 3 years to get a guy in the AF and make him a qualified fighter pilot.

There isn't a shortage of folks going to UPT... yet. There isn't a shortage of experienced pilots to fly AF airplanes... yet. There's a shortage of experienced AF pilots staying in after their UPT commitment is up, putting up with all of the nonsense and BS, to fill non-flying staff jobs, RPA assignments, and to go on worthless 365s to terrible locations in support of never-ending, unwinnable wars that are essentially just big jobs programs.

If there's ever a shortage of bodies to go to UPT, the AF will first expand opportunities available for USAFA/ROTC/OTS, and extend the UPT commitment to 15 years after graduation, before ever raising the maximum age limit for UPT. By the time they raise the age limit or start giving out waivers, you'll be pushing 40.

So, I wouldn't get your hopes up too much. Sorry.
