New guy gear

I've been using the standard LW 22" that fits wheels first in the overhead. I do two week trips with that, but I plan on getting laundry done at some point during the trips. I wouldn't mind going with something bigger since I usually check it when I deadhead. However it's nice to have the option to carry-on when I jumpseat offline for personal reasons or sometimes to work. How does the one you have compare in carrying capacity to the LW 22"?
Looking at the B&R website, it's tough to tell what kind of features they have. It would be nice to get some first hand knowledge. Just wondering what my options might be. Thanks.

The DCprox are not over ear, they are on ear. The don't have any more clamping force than the cheap issued telex. Probably not as quiet as Bose. The noise isn't bad on the bus at all. However, when we wear headsets is when it is usually loudest and busiest (takeoff and land) where I work. I managed without them for a couple months, but was frustrated with the headsets and being able to hear the comms clearly. We do use ics when the headsets are on after push. I am in the minority as far as those with a purchased headaet. I gave my story and why I bought them in case the guy finds himself in a similar situation. 650 is a bit is cash, I'll agree and the Bose are nearly a grand (if you want over ear cups).

I bought it at the International Luggage store in North SLC. Paid close to 500 for it I think, so it wasn't cheap. Storage-wise I think, due to the compression system, it carries just as much or more. It just doesn't have as many pockets as the LW. It has just 2 wheels on it. I looked at a couple other B&R and they swayed me away from anything with 4 wheels due to that being the piece they see most of the damage on.
HTBH, which one did you buy, cost?, where?

Bag is very hard to rate. Look at some and get what you like. RJ folks in your class are gold for opinions and knowledge.
Personally use and recommend a QC-15 with the U-Fly Mike.
Home :: UFlyMike
When not working you can plug your device in and listen you your music and more importantly kill the noise of the cabin when commuting.
Good luck.

I use the DC ProX and like them. I have done flights ANC-ORD (7ish hours) and have not had any "head in a vice" feelings. They are very lightweight, comfortable, quiet, and at AS, we always use the intercom to talk (unless there is a jump seater we want to talk to).
For the suitcase, the Kirkland 22" from Costco works great. It is lightweight, sturdy, and only $99.

0 issues in 6+ years with this bag. The lw and purdy neat behemoths are way too heavy.

Curious. Do you bring your own yoke? Throttles? Mx binder? If germs had the appearance of chocolate pudding, the cockpit would look like the inside of a fudge factory.. Always get a chuckle when the other pilot wipes a few areas with a sani-wipe--yep that killed about 5%

If someone wants to save a few bucks and go with the company-supplied headset, go for it. If that $1000 is better spent elsewhere, then do it.
However, I'll go with the nice, quiet and painless experience of my over-the-ear ANR headsets. And, I use them for the GA flying I do.
YMMV...
p.s. want to borrow my handkerchief too? I'm not currently sick.

"You're with me, so I'll wash my hands. I just don't see why I have to wash them after touching my own ****, right? Plus, isn't pee supposed to be sterile?"
No words....
