Default Tax/SS question

Hi all,

I just started at Cathay Pacific based in Toronto. I work for VETA, a basing company based in Hong Kong. I get paid in $CAD with no taxes withheld. Plus, I live in the USA.

The company is telling me I have to self-declare my income. Some pilots are telling me to pay Federal, but not Social Security. I plan on talking to my CPA, but does anyone have any experience in this?

My question is, what do I owe and to whom?
