Default Social Security Strategy

OMG.

Here's a Social Security strategy worth pondering - CBS News

I particularly like the chart where it says Bob needs to die before this age. So Bob needs to kill himself by a certain age to make this strategy work. Nice strategy.

Probably worth considering and having a strategy to get from 65 to 67 if you are an airline pilot.

Assuming you would even get it.

The best strategy is to assume you will get nothing.

(However, someone who never contributed to the system will).

I laugh at those who peddle Social Security advice, because nobody knows exactly when they'll die.

So, if you want to live a long life, start collecting SS benefits at 62. If you want to die shortly after your 70th birthday (or sooner), delay taking benefits until you turn 70.

Social Security is the very definition of a ponzi scheme, the only problem is the baby boomers have raided the account.

No one under 40 will ever see a dime of that money.

Social Security will always be around in some form or another. Older people vote and politicians know this.

Not mathematically possible in its current form.

Neither is adding a trillion a year in debt without becoming bankrupt at some point.

Nope, which seems to be the end state goal. If you can't change the country, bring it down.
