Question How long till I get the money back for part 141?

I attended a part 141 flight school, so I can use my GI bill for flight training. I was using it toward my CMEL rating which I passed. I was enrolled in the 141 program, so how long does it take to get the 60% back? Do you get the money for the checkride (450) dollars? How do you get the money back, do I need to go to the flight school, or is it by direct deposit?

I should mention that I'm not talking about the "new" GI bill which does not pay for flight training. I was active army from March 2002 - March 2008, so I should be in the "old" GI bill program

Did you submit your paperwork to the VA BEFORE you started the training AND get it approved?

If you did that and it was approved and your were actively enrolled through the VA for an approved course AND the school had you sign and submitted your monthly training statements to the VA then it will take between 1-3 months for the first check, after that youll get about one a month.

If you did not do all of your paperwork before hand you will not be reimbursed. You will also not get reimbursed for checkride fees ever. As for getting the money as long as you submitted the appropriate paperwork then you will get a check mailed to the current address you put on file.
