Unless your fresh out of school, that WOULD BE A VERY BAD MOVE.

Can you elaborate on that. I'll be finished with my A&P in January. Would like to eventually work as a pilot/A&P, but certainly willing to start on the maintenance side.

The guys flying for L3 and Dynamic (at least on the ISR stuff), are around 3000 to 4000 hours of turbine time, and most have a secret clearance already.

I would say that at least 40% of the aircrew are leaving due to poor management. I have never seen such a great pool of talented pilots so upset about how something is mismanaged. L-3 hired some great pilots for this program, but left some idiots to run it. Put your apps in and have fun... it's just not worth the money to put up with their stupidity.. I know of one or ten openings that will definitely be there in the spring....

Could you be a little more specific as to the management issues at L3. 40% seems like an extremely high attrition rate. I have appplied at all of the big 3 contractors and want to make sure I don't get into something that I may regret.
Anything would be helpful.

Default Hey fellas

New to this board & thread, I just received the EOE form as well, waiting to hear what's next... If my stuff is accepted, what's next after the EOE form? BTW - Congrats to GWW5 and AviatorAl04 again!

I received the EOE form about a week after I originally applied. I returned it the same day then I got an email saying they will get back to me soon with a thanks or no thanks and be patient in the meantime.

40% are looking, but few of the pilots are actually leaving. $665 (650 pay +15 incidentals) per day plus food and room is hard to beat in this economy. I agree that management uses the big stick approach, but when they pay better than the rest they can get away with it. L3 is still getting applications from Dynamic and AVENGE guys, that ought to say something there. I'm sure if someone starts steeling their pilots they will develop a better management attitude, my understanding is that things improved drastically at Dynamic once L3 took about 30-40 percent of their pilots.

Probably should note that the pay (650+ per day) is only for days deployed. When you are home it is 0$.
