got an email saying I had to pay my way to hawaii for the interview for a job in NM since its pacwings.

"Dear Pilot Applicant for VFR Captain:

Thank you for your interest in Pacific Wings Airlines. We are constantly
recruiting to find the absolute best candidates as our airline grows. We
are currently interviewing for immediate Captain positions in Maui, Hawaii.

Pacific Wings Airline is a Maui, Hawaii based airline and have been in
business for over 33 years. We currently fly a fleet of Cessna Grand
Caravans. Although Caravan experience is a plus, it is not necessary to
join our core of pilots. We are looking for highly motivated pilots that
can handle passengers, baggage, customer service issues, and are willing to
put in the effort to make Pacific Wings Airline a great airline.

You must be a FAA certified pilot and be able to work in the United States
of America. You must meet this requirement to work for Pacific Wings
Airline.

We provide all training requirements. We will require you to sign a
one-year pro-rated training contract agreement.

If offered the position you will be hired as a VFR Captain and upon reaching
IFR mins you will be required to upgrade to IFR Captain. Our minimum
requirements for IFR Captain are per 135.243: Commercial SEL, and Instrument
Airplane, 1200 Total Time, 500 hours of cross country, 100 hours of night,
and 75 hours of actual or simulated instrument.

We provide full medical at no expense after the first 30-60 days of
employment. Spouses, children, and dental coverage are extra. We offer
Vacation and Holiday benefits, and a 401K. As a Captain, you also have
jumpseat and non-rev privileges with most major airlines.

If you are interested in becoming a VFR Captain for Pacific Wings, we invite
you to come to Maui for an interview. We know that your experience here will
be rewarding and valuable.

Upon receiving this email response and you are still interested in becoming
a Captain for our airline, email back to me with the phrase "VFR PIC" in the
subject line. All communications with me must be via e-mail only, do not
call.

Mahalo,

Gabriel Kimbrell - [email protected]
Captain

Any updates to this outfit? They're advertising on Find a pilot and it is for the C208 captains and FOs... Doesn't say anything about pay or what life is like there.

I had an interview with NM Airlines a few months back. Was not impressed. Bad MX. The pilot that interviewed me told me "Do not go to Hawaii ,it's awful there". They are looking for young guys that are easy to abuse. Pay is low. Don't have anything good to say about them other than the Caravans are new and equipped nicely. There was another thread from a guy who applied here but can't remember where it is. His experience was worse than mine.
