When I was out there for AirNet I stayed in a crash pad down in Elizabeth, right near EWR. Cost me around $250 a month I believe. The drive was kind of a pain... especially after rolling in around 7am and trying to get back to the house before falling asleep.
My personal experience... this crash pad was almost exclusively Continental and Continental Express pilots and FA's. They were there and gone on their multi-day trips out of EWR. I, on the other hand, was there all the time... and had a schedule pretty much opposite everyone else. When I was getting home, everyone else was up and stirring and making a racket. Sleeping with earplugs became a requirement, and sometimes even that didn't help.
Long story short... if you are on the freight-dog schedule then I would suggest you find a pad that is populated by same. It's much easier to sync up your sleep schedules, and often you can even share rides to TEB.
If you want information on the Elizabeth crash pad drop me a PM.
