Default New 135 Operator

hey everyone I'm wondering what you think a pilot should make for this gig, and also if you would give up your seniority at a regional for it?

The job is about 20 minutes from my new house so i could drive to work, and also its a Monday - Friday job with no overnights and no weekend work. not like the cargo outfits where you sit all day at the outstation, more back and forth flights that are 40 minutes long. he asked me what salary i was looking for and i just spit out 35k because that's about what I'm making now. i don't know much about but here's the link anyway...

FlyIndigo

the only issue that's really bugging me is that possible in few years i could upgrade and make twice as much, but other than that sounds like a pretty easy fun gig with the possibility of finding some good connections in the long run...

thoughts please it would really help me out...

I'd like to fly a SR-22! I've been carrying around a picture of one in my wallet for a long time
So you laid out an offer of $35K and they didn't blink an eye?
I saw the ad mention flying in and around the SFO area.
You know that $35K won't get you very far in the Bay.
The job sounds good to me. QOL for people that don't want to be gone on the road sounds good. Equipment is good.
Please post further information if you pursue this further - like the interview and hiring process.

First of all, if you are a co-jockey for a regional right now, you won't have a job in a few years, let alone "be a Captain and make twice as much". It seems like a very nice gig and if you do a good job, you should be able you renegotiate your salary in the future. I think you also might have named a salary a little to quick, but if that's what you think you want then it's ok.

GL with your new job.

well the operation seems like it could be a good fit for me...a morning and evening shift monday thru friday. great people who were very friendly and upfront, and the salary isn't just a number as their will be profit sharing and performance based salary increases. so if the start up does well the pilots will do well, and vice versa. i think with the current times it sounds like a good opportunity to stay local with hopes to be with a stable company, starting up a new service with more than enough demand for it. i guess logging all this turbine sic has its perks, just like getting involved with the 135 outfit will also have its perks...

i'm just having a hard time getting rid of the year and a half of seniority i have built up here...my mind is pretty much made up and i'm looking forward to it...
