Check hauling is ill, but I wouldn't call the mortician yet. My company just signed a new two year contract with the Fed.

Also, FLX is still very much alive. They were advertising on 350 a few days ago.

If I were to guess, I'd say ex-Airnet employee. Understandable level of bad blood there right now. That said, I'm an ex-flxer and have nothing but good things to say about my time there. If you have questions, feel free to PM.

Today while I was flying, I heard a Flight Express 210 flying around in central going to southern Florida. He used the FLX flight XXX call sign.

Ya... I worked there as well... Overall good experience. Not a perfect job by a long shot however.

I wouldn't say there's bad blood between the two pilot groups. Airnet guys don't hold anything against FLX at all.

From what I heard, there will be a consolidation of operations this summer under the airnet banner. This includes pilot senoirity lists. Airnet will be sending down a lot of thier B58's in the mean time and getting some 210's to fly around in the northeast. I haven't seen any of it happen yet. I do know that they will be moving into a better hanger down there, and they are getting some of Airnet's work, and heard thier pilot's are even jump seating on some of Airnet's aircraft. I figure Bayside will eventually have the two consolidate under one company.
Airnet picked up some runs out of CRW, and is flying alot out of ADS for Beaver express. Airnet did just shrink the flight department, which is going to impact the pilot's with the least amount of seniority. I heard that Flight express can train pilot's for a lot less cost to Bayside than airnet can. At least that is what they tell the mechanics.

yeah they can because they aren't trained to the same standards or in the same airplanes. I've heard of our guys having to go fly thier old airnet run because a flx pilot wouldn't go because it was below his personal mins. Which is fine and actually very responsible of the pilot, but that wouldn't fly at airnet in a million years. If its legal your probably going. I don't have any bad blood either. i just can't believe they fly single engine recips in an all weather business. I definately dont envy that. its gotta be tough. Good luck to em'.
