You're so effing bored , you pull out the VFR sectional and actually walk off the runway length numbers depicted on the chart. Yeah.

Ymbafd if you can start up, taxi, do a run up and get airborne all without touching the brakes.

The radio seems very quiet, maybe inop and the WX sucks bad. You call for a radio check and ATC responds (with your first name), "You're my only customer, tonight".

Flying over the mountains in a piston twin at full power, at blue line and descending with the VSI pegged.

That's a permanent memory, I'm guessing.

You're about 10 minutes from taxi, sitting in the FBO drinking a cup of coffee and reading the newspaper. The company makes you wear a hi-vis vest over your uniform. A sharply dressed captain enters the FBO and since it's zero-dark-thirty, nobody's at the front desk.

He looks at you and asks, "Well, are you gonna get your butt up off that couch and do your job"? You smile, remove your hi-vis vest and keep reading the newspaper.
