Dropping dispersants into the gulf-Don't!!!!!
Company called Qinetiq is hiring fixed wing contract pilots for lots of gulf flying.I talked to a recruiter today, his first question was:
"Would you be willing to support the needs of a global firm in the assisting of an environmental clean-up?"
I asked what firm and, he began to tell em about what the flying is like, 2 days on 1 day off, assigned to a medical officer, full medical/dental provided by the company 100%, for an ongoing contract........
As this would be my first flying job ever i was happy, but after doing some research its not worth it!
Airplanes are mixed C130's, Casa's recruiter didnt know too much.

Yep, and a little information is dangerous.....
The dispersants used CAN be deadly..... IF YOU DROWN IN THEM!
Here is the MSDS sheet for the most used dispersant:
http://lmrk.org/corexit_9500_uscueg.539287.pdf
For comparison, take a look at these:
Formula 409

Automatic Dishwashing Detergents
Household Products Database - Health and Safety Information on Household Products
http://www.armchem.com/downloads/CPC%2042706.pdf
I almost forgot, Jet A
http://www.carsonoil.com/pdfs/MSDSJetFuel.pdf
Inhalation of Jet A is FAR more hazardous
The company's statement on its product

The first oppertunity for you to fly commercially was in a CASA or C-130 and you decided against it? Good luck .....?

I am not exactly "green".
If someone offered me a job flying a DC-3 or 747 or C130 spraying CFC's directly into the ozone I cant say I would turn it down.
With the money made I could pay to get my son a good education which he would be able to use to help slow ozone depletion.
Its a win win

I guess you guys are up north, its a whole different story down here.I'm going to sleep tonight to the aroma of something like a giant fart.Its a mess.I can't even head to the beaches i learned to swim in without some contracted police officer telling me to stay away from the water, which by the way is not green or blue, but yellow.
@benny
I'm pretty sure you need a type rating for the 130.And for the short contract i'm positive they won't sponsor that.
@usmc
Fat chance
