I thought Aperture was in San Jose not socal? Their schedule is good from what I've heard. Something along the lines of 7on/7off. It's probably not a good time builder though. But you could live in Santa Cruz and surf all the time on your off week. I've heard good things about Air American in Florida. Their pay is good(probably around 40-45K) and they fly piper Aztecs.

I stand corrected it is in San Jose. Regardless it is expensive and you have to live within 2 hours of the airport. The only issue i have is the flight time and the website says they make you sign a 6 month contract. Does Air America hire year round? By the way i believe you have to do 1 season and show up for a 2nd one to fly the aztec. That could have changed though.

Air america might still be hiring for the summer, but they mostly hire in the fall and I'm pretty sure you have to sign a 9 month contract. When I talked to them last fall they had said that their Aztecs were pretty senior and there was no guarantee on if or when you would be able to get in one.

So with aperture, you have to have a mailing address in Ca. There are people there who live in Pa, Ga, NM, Nv etc.. The only time you have to be at the office is every quarter for a pilot meeting. Other than that you don't need to be within two hours. The only case that exsists is when your on reserve or on an airplane based in RHV for the week... 30k is first 6 months, then a raise after 6 months, year, annual after that. From what I know 6 month contract is still req. but with 1000/50 you can't really be expecting much to happen in 6 months. It goes by faster than you think.
