Cool Low Time

I have 525 TT and a PPL. I plan on getting my Comm, Inst, and ME by next August. By then I will have the required time for Great Lakes. I know the pay really sucks but it seems tike the best way to build ME turbine time. After 15 months there hope to make the jump to corporate. Any thoughts out there?

Look into flying part 135 in Alaska. There are a few operators up here that will hire low-time pilots; a lot of lower 48 pilots have no clue as to what kind of opportunity also exists north of them.

Really Apokleros? Living in California, I'm not too familiar with the aviation world in Alaska. Do you know any operators by heart that may be willing to hire low time pilots?

A single pilot aircraft, however, can still require two pilots under certain operating rules (Part 135 is an example, safety pilot operations is another).

Logging total time without the ability to log PIC or SIC or instruction received, doesn't apply under a 135 certificate, or under any other civil circumstance.

OpSpecs requiring a SIC aren't required under 135 to need two pilots in IFR operations. OpSpecs are required to allow single pilot operation with an autopilot in lieu of a SIC.
I have buddy's who have logged time in a single pilot aircraft as sic, and the airlines have accepted it. It was a 135 opp. Your saying that's not possible? just a little confused
