Default Cfi renewal

I'm currently a cfii and it expires at the end of the month. Bad timing because I'm currently in ground school at a regional so id like to renewal my cfi asap.

I hear American Flyers is a great one. However, others say that the program won't allow you to get it done in one day which is what I'm trying to do, knock it out in a day or two max.

Anyone can lead me in the right direction as to which FIRC to chose would be awesome.

ThAnks

If you are looking for a one day course, and you have a weekend day available, try an AOPA sponsored FIRC. They post the "traveling road show" schedule online. The online "self paced" FIRCs are usually 16 hours of material. It "can" be done in less time than that if you read fast... It has been a while, but check if GLEIM still has their online FIRC. If not, then American Flyers is probably your next best choice.

Putting it off till the last month has its disadvantages...

American Flyers on-line FIRC can be done in a day. I've used it for 5 renewals; works great. One-time fee for life.

Ditto...

I've also done it in a day. Well, a full day and a short morning to get all the completion paper work done.

Keep your browser open, refresh at 10 minute intervals if needed. I have used the AF renewal since 2006 with no issues. Save your money, must print it out, fill out the 8710, take it to the FSDO unless you are too far away. My last one I actually had the paperwork with me and renewed during a 135 check ride, just let the POI know ahead of time about it.

Thank you everyone! A classmate told me that with AF you can open their materials, save it to your computer and look it over as you take the final with no minimum time spent on slides or whatever.

It's my first time renewing. I Would've done it sooner but couldn't find the time. Now I HAVE to make time. Oh well, I shot myself in the foot on this one.
Again, thank you everyone

I've completed the American Flyers course twice during busy initial groundschools at large operations. It's just a matter of managing your studying. I didn't do it in one day, but I managed to use the refresher course as my break during studying and knocked it out over several days, without any loss in studying the new aircraft and operation.

It's entirely dependent on how disciplined you are at accomplishing your goals. You can do it.

AOPA eFIRC online is by far the most interesting refresher and easy to complete in a day or two. They also have the easiest renewal processing without having to do all the faxing and mailing of stuff, it's all online. I've done Gleim several times, and only heard how boring and outdated American Fliers is to use. If you're not trying to go the cheap route and actually want to get something out of it and have them literally handle everything for you, try AOPA. Flight Instructor Refresher Courses - AOPA

Default Highly recommend american flyers

Just recently finished another AF cfi renewal.....this year there was an option to pay $25 for renewal via IACRA......It was a very easy process......and that fee is well worth your time spent going to a FSDO. Once you complete the course, they send you the course certificate along w detailed instructions.......only takes a few emails back and forth along with signing into IACRA to do the renewal process. It can easily be done in 2 days.......Highly recommend!
