I have heard of this. I'd like to be able to skip the regionals and still have a good gig while building TPIC. Plus I can be home based and have weekends off. I could always tranfer to the ATR and stay put or go directly to a Major/Fractional.

You aren't "skipping" the regionals dude. Not all feeders want 2k. some only want 135 mins.

You could go to Grand Canyon/Scenic in Vegas for a year. Fly as an SIC in the Twotter until you get like 700 TT and then they make you PIC in the Van. Not commutable tho.

Hageland hires Van FOs, but the pay is horrible! Ask my how I know! You can commute from anywhere. We have a November class, but I'm not sure how many Van FOs they will hire. Also, our sled drivers make as good or better pay than Lower 48 Van captains.

The negativity here is real. Thank to those who replied with positive options. I will consider all of them. It seems there are more openings with a CMEL and 500tt. Dose anyone have info on SANSA in Costa Rica? I know they use Caravans for Regional work.

MAC dropped their requirements to basic Part 135 minimums a while ago. Starting 208 pay is now 40k. This is not a time building gig. Most people fly about 250-300hr per year. If you like being home a lot and can afford the pay, MAC's a great place to work.

Thanks BigC208. I'm the rare kind that actually finds MAC a place to stay put for a long time if not a career in itself. Once I get IFR minimums I would like to apply for this company as a home based floater. What path did you take to get there? I also heard you can make more if you work your PTO as a Floater? Also hows the ATR Flying?
