Default Low time in Salt Lake City

Hi All,
Looking to see if anyone knows of some low time opportunities in the Salt Lake/Ogden area. Commercial, Multi/Single Land Instrument and tailwheel. Trying to find a pipeline gig but having no luck so far.

The only real way to build time in the SLC area is flight instructing. There is shrimping, but you got to now someone. There is flying skydivers, and again you need to know someone and skydive.

American Aviation, grand canyon tours, in SLC area is hiring. Please do your research about this company. I have not personally worked for them, but previous pilots seem to complain about MX in the past.

Some competing companies scavenge brine shrimp in the Great Salt Lake, and use aircraft to locate the shrimp. It's very competitive with a long history of sabotaging each other's aircraft, boats, etc.

And here I thought I'd heard it all. Learn something new every day!

I know of nothing for you in Salt Lake. However I can offer some general tips. Years ago I worked for a certain charter company. Many of those we hired were the ones that did more than drop off or send a resume. Pretty much anyone can do that, and without much effort. I generally liked, and recommended for interview, the folks who continued to come back and check in. This actually had a significant and positive influence. Don't show up every day, though once a week is generally fine. Initially send, or deliver, your resume along with a business card. [If you don't have cards, get some. Cards are still important, even in the computer age...] During the weekly visits, hand another card to the receptionist, be polite/professional, and leave! Be nice to everyone you encounter including the receptionist or someone you met in the parking lot, even if that person is a janitor; they can make or break you. Also send a "thank you" card after an interview. Neither the business or the thank you card need to be fancy.

Also keep in mind you can fly 135 VFR with 500 Hrs. [Although a significant number of companies want twice that, due to the nature of their operations.]
