Default Loosing bonus from current job. Advice?

So I'm in the process of looking for my first low time, hour building job. I have a good lead on a job that I have a pretty good chance of landing. My question is I've been at the "sales" job I've had for 5 years now. If I were to stay till February I'd be getting a bonus for about 3k. If I get offered a job do I have any room to ask if they were able to match my bonus up front? It will suck missing out on a check for 3k.

Bonuses are EXTREMELY rare in this industry. I've been flying for 10years professionally mostly corporate, some airline and have never been offered a bonus to sign on. I'm not sure where you are looking for a job but if it isn't a regional that states a sign on bonus I wouldn't think the chances are high. It's all about who you work for though, might be generous enough to match it. All you can do is ask and the worse they can say is "no". Good luck on everything...

Oh the spelling. I saw that after I posted it and can't figure out how to fix it. Simple mistake. Your comment had some Grammer issues if we're going that route

Absolutely not. As a new pilot, you're a dime a dozen. You have no experience, and there is an endless stream of pilots who will take your place at the drop of a hat for less money, or who will pay to work there. As a new pilot, you are the beggar, not the chooser. The company chooses you.

If you came to me as a zero-experience pilot and asked if I'd match the bonus from your non-flying job, I'd suggest you keep that job. Merely asking suggests that you're not very serious about the job for which you're applying.

Think about it. Why should an employer that has no connection with your other job have any interest in paying out money to you that you haven't earned, for work you haven't done, when they have no such program or pay schedule?
