Default Duration of a First Class Medical

Ok, trying to clear a little air with a friend of mine. Lets say I received a First Class Medical on 10/17/2007. This would still be a First Class Medical until the last day of the sixth month after the month of the exam. So, in other words, it would not degrade to a Second Class Medical until 5/31/2008? Or would it degrade to a Second Class on 4/30/2008? We both have our own interpretation of this reg! Thanks!!!

You have first class privileges until (and to include) 04/30/08. After that date, you still have a first class medical but you no longer have first class privileges. Until you renew, you will only be able to engage in operations requiring a second class medical.

And the second class privileges are only allowed through 10/31/2008, after that it's third-class privileges for two or the years depending on age. Or did they extend all third classes to three years?
