Default Good AME in SDF?

Any UPSers (or anybody else, for that matter) have a good AME they could recommend in the Ville? I'd prefer somebody that has a little experience with Special Issuances (I have high but stable ocular pressures requiring a SI) but will consider anyone with a good reputation.

I don't mind spending a little extra money to avoid an astronaut physical...and I already know about Dr. Schultize over at Bowman.

Many thanks!

Default Sdf Ame

While we're on the topic, can anybody recommend an AME in the SDF area who has a pretty easy vision test? My AME has told me for the past couple years that the next time I come, I'll need glasses to pass the test. (he uses one of the boxes you put your forehead up against) This time, he meant it, and I'm just not ready to go to the eye doctor at this point in my life, so I'm looking for one of those doctors who passes you on the eye exam if you can find the office.

Thank you in advance.

I have a similar problem at my Doc's office. I believe that the eye test machine has not been maintained as it should. If for any reason you have a problem with the machine, you might request that the doc allow you to take the test using a wall card. Before your next physical, go to your doc and ask him if this is allowed. That might help. Of course if you really need glasses (i.e. can't read the wall chart either) you may want to bite the bullet and get that taken care of.

Dr. Glenn Stoutt at Springs Pediatrics off Breckinridge Lane. Very senior AME and a real friend to pilots. 502-895-0524

I know the original poster mentioned Dr. Schultize, but this might be a good time to mention him again. At least a few years ago, it was an eyechart on a wall, and as an added bonus, it was the eyechart you can find on the internet.

or...just maybe you don't have Superman x-ray vision anymore and you actually need glasses. Sucks to get older. Go to an eye doctor and find out.
