Default FDX Anthem Question

Anyone else had a problem with Anthem denying to initially pay for a routine doctor visit. Several times this year for my family members, I have had to call them and ask why. They usually ask if I have other insurance to pay for it and when I say no, they pay. Also a couple months ago, they sent me a questionaire about a hospital visit I had and wanted to know if someone else was to blame and if they had insurance. After I filled it out, they paid. Maybe this is normal, but I've not seen it with this frequency and we're a healthy family...

I've been having problems with Anthem paying as well. ER visit, I pay my co-pay, and then we start getting letters. When all was said and done, Anthem paid $10, my secondary insurance paid $20, and I ate about $270. Around the same time we were notified that my wife's OB and my kid's pediatrician would no longer accept BCBS. Never saw any problems like this with Cigna. Did we get sold a pig in a poke?

I have got a EOB that asked if we had a secondary insurer. I called them up and asked ***, they anotated that they were the only insurer and said that those type of things should stop. This was for a routine Pediatrician appt for my daughter, although I think she got some vaccinations. We'll see.
