Default Extended Medical Duration

My first class was on it's way to a second class at the end of July, however with the new FAA rulemaking that is taking place, will I retain my first class status for another 6 months?

When did the new rule go into effect? I think it went into effect before the end of july, effectively making your 1st class privileges last another 6 months. I think even if it lapsed into 2nd class privileges, the new rule would change it back to 1st.

I didn't do any research to come up with this answer, so someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

I think it was July 25th or something. I agree with your thinking but needed to make sure as I have an interview coming up that requires a first class but I'm sure I can explain the situation. Standing by for any other comments.
