Default 2nd class medical

I currently hold a 2nd class medical and starting to get some flying hrs built for my private pilots' license. Ill be working two jobs and fly in the afternoon weekends and still work those evenings. im very ambitious about getting my license i have passed a practice exam online at 85 percent in like 35 min. kinda rushed it lol.

one thing is i wear a hearing aid and the medical has restrictions to wear corrective lenses and amplified headsets. my left ear (i am right handed) i can only hear bass noise. is it possible i could still get a charter job? I can still hear well with my hearing aid on a cheap 2 dollar rental headset but i wnat to make sure i can hear the controllers as that is a must i may have to have them repeat but that could pose a danger to me and others.

if for some reason i cant use airspaces is there a bush piloting job that i could take say in africa where there is no airspaces they just use hand radios to take a job in that? any advise is appreciative thanks!

i would think that if you could get a 2nd class medical, you should be able to get a first class medical. the hearing portions, from what i remember, aren't different. do you already have a hard time hearing controllers, even with your hearing aid? i don't see why you couldn't get a job with an airline either. if you comply with the stipulations on your medical. have you tried to get a first class?

The FAA is pretty liberal about hearing...there are many old airline captains out there.

I think that if you are allowed a 2nd. class with a hearing aid restriction, you could also hold a first. If you need a waiver for a 2nd., it might be a different story.

There are overseas jobs which might not require a medical, but the pay and operational safety standards would probably be subpar. I don't think you'll have to worry about that.

I was in the crew lounge today and i was sitting next to an older captain with a hearing aid. I don't see why you should have an issue
