Default FAA Aeromedical Backlog?

Hey Everyone:

Its been 8 weeks since ALPA Aeromedical submitted paperwork for me to FAA Aeromedical. Each week I call OKC they tell me that my file "is in line to be reviewed by the examiner." They claim they have a backlog.

Has anyone recently submitted anything to FAA Aeromedical and had it approved? If so, how long did it take? When I started this process, ALPA Aeromedical told me it would take 2-3 weeks. Then they admitted that its actually been taking closer to 5-6 weeks. Now we're on week 8.

Just curious how long its been actually taking.

Thanks

Mine took 6 weeks back in April. Mine was pretty straight forward. It may also depend on what you were out for.

It's summer. All the Feds are busy flying jump seat "line checks" to visit family and friends. Backlog will clear up in the fall when school starts.

ALPA medical is very good about following the progress of your paperwork. They know where all the in/out boxes in OKC. Have you called them to ask them check on it? They did well by me and know who to call to find out what's going on.
