There will be some changes to the rules soon.
I already believe that failure to self report is grounds for revocation of medical. So, if you care about your career then you should self report.
Medical Insurance and LTD policies will also need to address these issues for pilots to feel more comfortable and confident in self reporting.
Doctors will be mandated to report. In some states, Highway rules already require this for Commercial truck drivers as well as standard drivers licenses for elderly.

If so I'd like access to yours as well. After all you have lives in your hands as well. I recommend your industry beginning a drug testing program as well.

I disagree with the entire medical process for pilots. We've got the mandatory retirement and we must hold a first class medical all the way until that date. It should be one or the other. My vote is for mandatory retirement age ONLY. No medical whatsoever. Any type of single pilot flying would require it. Two person cockpits are already safe enough from one of the pilots passing away in flight. The odds of both becoming incapacitated at the same time due to medical issues is astronomical to the point that a medical exam would reduce the odds negligiblely.
I don't hear about doctors dying on the operating table and I rarely hear of anything drug related. I was being sarcastic about requiring those for your profession. I trust my Doctor is a professional based on the years he/she worked to get their license.
I don't want the government involved in my career anymore than they already are.
