Default Special Issuance Medical and Hiring Practices

I have a 1st Class Special Issuance Medical Certificate branded with Not Valid For Any Class After XXX date (6 months). I'm currently a corporate pilot and planning on transitioning to airline flying and I'm wondering if this would be a showstopper (with the exclusion of the Legacy group)? My Authorization letter expires in September of 2021 and I've been granted the Special for some 10 years now so it's not a new condition.

What is it for? Is it something that the date can change on?

The condition is DVT (blood clots) from some 10+ years ago and they just keep extending the program so it's not a problem for renewal, just won't go away on my certificate.

Just got issued a special issuance. There is absolutely no problem. You might get asked at the interview about it but that's it's. If you get on with an ALPA carrier aeromedical will help you when it comes time to submit everything and work with the FAA.

As long as you can hold a first class medical no airline will question you about a special issuance letter. In fact, they shouldn't even ask about it.

Had cancer a few years ago and a thyroid problem that came with it. Never asked. To be honest, I don't think they can ask. You meet the requirement of a 1st class medical.
