Curious if anyone has an idea for what the current wait time is for OKC to review medical a for Special Issuance?

What is it for? If it's for taking an SSRI it could be a year. There are many nightmarish stories. What's it for?

I'm also waiting. I was mis-diagnosed for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy(HCM). Went to see a specialist who's an expert on HCM and he gave me a clean bill of health. My paperwork went in first week of April.

Did you have anyone look over all of your paperwork before you submitted to the FAA? If so, who did you use?

Aviation Medical Advisory Service in Colorado. Their service is an ALPA member benefit. I used them in 2010 for a kidney stone issue. They're great to work with.

I just called AMAS and it looks like 4 to 8 weeks depending on the severity of your case if you use their service. Thanks for the tip!

If you submit everything they need and in the correct format, and the results are acceptable for the condition, it should take around 2-3 months max. They are pretty good at taking your calls for updates in my experience.
