Default Dumb Question

Somewhere down the line of taking checkrides I filled out an 8710 with a "Sr." suffix as I have a seven-year-old son who is a Jr. Well, the Sr. suffix has stuck with every single certificate I have received since, even though I've filled out 8710s without the suffix. All of my other documents, birth certificate, ss card, driver license, etc. do not have this suffix on them. My question is, would it be worth the time and effort to go up to the FSDO and have this corrected or should I leave it as is seeing as how it is merely a formality? I told you it would be a dumb question. I'm getting ready to apply for the regionals and want to make sure I have every minute detail covered. Thanks in advance!

Hmmm, it's an official document, and you filled it out as such, so I guess technically the others should match? I don' tknow, it's kind of a catch 22. As far as the interview, I doubt it'll be an issue in that regards.

Might be a good idea to fix it. It may delay your background check or PRIA requests.

Honestly, I'd fix it. I had a medical rejected recently because of my middle name being spelled two different ways. I went down to the FSDO and showed them my passport. The guy filled out a form and I walked away. It was no big deal.

Thanks for the input. I've already called an examiner and plan to go up and get it taken care of. Otherwise, if I leave it be it will bug me every time I look at the certificate. Thanks again!

I am a Jr and some documents have it, some don't. It has never been a problem. I suggest you keep it and have your son use Jr as well on all future docs. You will find things easier once he is older. However, I do not have a middle name, but sometimes I get an initial of J or N (short for NMI). My PRIA stuff did not snag.
