Default Part 121 fuel/alternate requirement

Hello there,

I am having an interview next week, and I am reviewing some of the gouges. One of the questions that I might be asked is:

fuel reserves to multiple alternates. .

does this mean the fuel required to fly to destination, then to the most distant alternate?

Straight from part 121 I could not find anything aboout multiple alternates, only MOST DISTANT. Is that what the mean?

That's always been my understanding. When you decide you have to divert, you call up company and between the 2 alternates one of them should be good to land at. If you have to go to both alternates, you're having a bad day.

Remember too that the alternates on your dispatch may not be the actual alternate you divert to. Talking to dispatch helps in many ways.. it builds rapport so when you really need something, you are not just some no-name guy/gal w/ 4 stripes. Also, think of this situation.. you arrive at ATL and everyone is having to go to alternates (not likely but go with this). The first bunch goes to AGS and the ramp fills up so the next bunch, although showing AGS, are told to go to BHM which wasn't on the release.. or CHA. It occasionally happens.

Be flexible.
