I was applying on Airline Apps and it had a section on traffic violations. What should you put if you don't remember the specifics it asks for. Should I make it up?

I would just say I got a routine speeding ticket in late 2002 or whatever. Don't make stuff up because it won't match the records they pull. Even if you don't remember the details, they will be fine as long as you tell them that you got a ticket during that timeframe.

You should have no difficulty obtaining driving records from your DMV or the state that you received the violation from. Above all else, be honest and put as much info as you can. Do not assume that putting nothing or submitting bogus info. will help you in any way.

For what it's worth, I can't even tell you how many speeding tickets I racked up in my old Porsche even as recently as the month prior to my interview at CAL. I told them the speed, let them know I sold the car, and we all had a good laugh. Honesty is the best policy by far - and obviously I'm still gainfully employed.

I guess as long as you don't do more than 250 near a Class B airport, you should be fine!!!!!!

Your going to need your driving history for interviews anyway so you might as well get them to fill out the app. Then everything will be accurate.

Be honest about every infraction that you have ever recived. It will show up and being a former hireing manager(non avation). Being dishonest is the worse thing that you can do at your interview or put anything on your app that is dishonest. Remember that if you don't get caught right away you will eventualy and that will be much worse. So to make a long story short just be honest and you shouled be ok.

$8, and however long the wait is... at your local DMV, at least in the state of VA... sucks, because mine was at least 7 things on the list...

What about tickets that no longer show up on your record? Do you still report them?

When I applied to Delta, I put... "Moving Violation, Portland, 2000." Keep it simple. I wouldn't worry about pulling your DMV records. I never had to pay to have mine pulled. Delta did it for me. I got the job. It was no big deal. I also have a friend who wrote his entire life story about his speeding tickets. He got the job, too.
