XJ pays you from day 1... forget the ramen and get some real food for a change

Welcome aboard.

If you can bring a car I would do it. There's a few groccery stores that are just a bit too far to walk to. Lifetime Fitness is 5 miles away (They give a NWA discount just bring your badge). There's a shuttle service to the training center and the airport from the hotel but they won't take you anywhere else. If you take a lift to the airport, you can ride the light rail to the Mall of America or to downtown MSP. Downtown is a great place to spend the weekend. Good restaurants, nightlife etc. You can also bike from the light rail to Lake Nickomis, Lake Calhoun, soccer fields etc. There's a pretty decent bike trail in Eagan to (Lebenon Hills), near the hotel.

Study hard but take time for yourself to decompress. At least two hours a day doing something that has nothing to do with aviation.

See ya on the line!

Driving up from Green Bay. Figured having the truck along will give me some flexibility.

I called Homestead and they told me they offer free passes to the YMCA to workout. Thanks for the tip on the bike trail--I am planning to get back from class, workout for an hour or so and then review the days' subject over dinner. I am driving up Sunday afternoon.

My wife and I fly in on the 27th but we are just there to visit son and grandson. Probably see some of you on June 2nd when they show off the new CRJ900.

XJSAAB, RJ85FO, MESABAH, SIGEP NM, IHATEMGMT and others will be lurking in the background trying to figure out who is who.

Should we wear name tags ?
Looks like it will be RADAR, LOSTBOYS97, & FR8DOGG on June 18th.

I ain't wearin' no name tag.

Hi this is John Spanjers and today is Thursday, May 17, 2007.
Mesaba takes delivery of XJ901 next week and each of you should be very
proud of your role in making this milestone a reality! Your commitment to
safety and operational excellence has been critical to securing this new
business – thank you!
In a show of appreciation, we’re very pleased to invite all of you and your
families to an event June 2 in Minneapolis to celebrate new beginnings and
the CRJ900. This promises to be a good time – you’ll have a chance to tour
Mesaba’s first CRJ900 and we’ll have food and activities for everyone.
I also hope you’ve had a chance to take part in our employee contest and
submit ideas to name XJ901… we’ll reveal the winning entry at the event on
June 2nd. More information about the contest and the event is available on
MyMesaba.com.
Don’t forget to check out the photos on MyMesaba of Mesaba’s 900s at the
manufacturing facility in Montreal. It really is amazing to see the aircraft
come together from start to finish.
We’ll update this number again next week. In the meantime be sure to check
out MyMesaba.com for other company news in the meantime. Thanks for
calling.
The name of the new aircraft is "Soaring Eagle". Apparently that is what Mesaba means. Anyways it just flew in yesterday to MSP.

I knew that us glider pilots would get a word in somehow.

The Homestead is good about arranging the shuttle to take trainees to the supermarket also. For the meager amount of time you won't be studying, there is a decent sports bar within short walking distance over the Interstate. I think it is called Joe Sensers. I don't have to tell you guys to study hard when you get here, because it isn't a cake walk by any means. Good luck.
