Also I have the class date for the 17th. Anyone know what aircraft they will be assigning on the 17th? Anyone know what kind of financial shape Mesaba is in given the fact they have turboprops and less 50 seat jets than alot of other regionals. Also they have a good number of 76 seat jet which places them in a good position.

I don't know the financial condition of the company, considering we are owned by Northwest, but we are on the upside of the scale. We have 49 SAABs, 31 CRJ900's going to 36, and 17 CRJ200's.

Considering the condition of the industry and our past 4 years of rocky history, our current state is golden. Plus 3/4 of our seniority list has been on property less than 3 years. Making our labor expenses fairly low.

You won't be sorry for coming. Welcome

Not too sure but this could possibly have something to do with it.

Delta plans to open Saab 340 base at Atlanta hub

We're likely not hiring solely for a proposed ATL saab base. The saab fleet is fully delivered and established. All they'd likely do is decrease postions in our current bases and allow people to bid to ATL and if there aren't any takers, they'd displace the most junior. We're also not hiring for the few more 900s we have remaining for delivery. You guys do the math...

I understand your guys optimism about huge growth, after going through your bankruptcy It is probably nice to have some positive vibes going through. I wish we could have the same about our contract here at pinnacle. HAving said that I wanted to point out something about Delta to you that might explain some of your hiring. I am not sure how you staff your crews right now but I know that Delta requires more than northwest and some of the hiring you might be doing right now is to bring your staffing levels up to what delta wants. Granted you guys will probably have some growth as well, but it might not be as much as some say to be. Also, an increase of flying does not always mean more airplanes. If they fly the airplanes more they need more crews.
Either way, time will tell.

We have to staff our 900s around 7 crews/frame on the DAL side if I'm correct, 5ish/frame for NWA I think?...NWA hubs are extremely efficient, with all the pushes very closely synced up, and all our gates very close to each other...whereas Delta hubs are a little more scattered out and the pushes aren't as well synced up, and ATL gets more backed up trafficwise than any of the NWA hubs...so reserve levels have to be greater...

We have always staffed roughly 9 pilots per plane at XJ, so nothing new here. I think we're staffing for alot of things. Increased block hours from NWA, more planes, future attrition and FO backfilling new upgrades.

For those in the Oct 20th class... here's the base breakdown for you all to bid on:

4 MSP
3 DTW
1 MEM
