As for the 200 class... I wouldn't read too far into that as being a bad thing. The only reason we'd be hiring onto the 200 would be to backfill FO positions has they go to upgrade. It might not always be necessary to have a 200 class, so when there isn't one, or two are combined, it isn't the end of the world.

Guess nobody paid attention to the latest vancancy that had 4 newhires, all going to the Saab, 0 To the CRJ200. Not really any backfilling to speak of anywhere. Most upgrades for that matter is to the Saab to take care of the short staffing on it.

A Mesaba mechanic in MSP gave us those numbers today along with some of the details of there configuration that can be expected. I don't remember all of the details. He also said that a MX base (perhaps a pilot base as well) would be opening in ATL sometime in the spring around the time that Mesaba will begin revenue flights to ATL. The SAABs will start flying in there around February and the CRJs around March.

well hopefully it will not be the start of the slowdown but rather maybe the reason there is a small class of Saab FO's and no 200 FO's on the vacancy notice is because maybe they are waiting a few days in which to see what Delta is wanting to do to us i.e.( maybe not putting us into a overstaffing situation). I know flying right now on the 200 that unless you have a line you pretty much dont fly worth squat on reserve, so take it as you may for that. I will hold my breath and hope there are some more 200 FO's so that I can move up a little bit on the bidding. Gotta keep positive.

The Freedom 900s are next gens with 12 FC and 64 Y class, just like ours. I have heard however they have AHRS, not IRSs like ours and may only have one CDU.

There is no need for more 200 FOs if we don't get any more 200s. The only reason they'd hire more 200s right now, is to backfill the ones going to upgrade. Same thing for the saab. Hence - the small numbers.
