In my Mesaba class in January we had a guy that flew Orions in the Navy for 20 years...he just studied his butt off to get used to the automation...

That is an interesting theory, maybe someone should tell SWA, DAL, FDX, UPS that they need to hire 1000-1500 hour guys to lower their failure rates. (not to be an *ss, but maybe it was those guys, not their times) I not here to start some high/low debate, as this thread is for guys trying to get on and those that have been hired. I am just trying to figure out what is going on. Xelectro I appreciate your input. I am trying to find out if I may get an opportunity or I will be blackballed because I have "too much experience" and I may leave in 3 years when things turn around, just as almost all of those with 3 years in would do to. And who knows maybe I would choose to stay, I am starting to get at an age where hopping around being on the bottom of seniority lists does not make sense.

Thanks for the all the feedback and opinions. Still crossing my fingers for the call.

Well the thing was with high time pilot at expressjet when I went thorough training, is that they thought they didn't need to study since they already had prior 121 experiance. While 500TT and 600TT guys stayed in their hotel rooms and studied all night long. We even had one guy in a class a week senior to mine that got kicked out for having an attitude with a ground instructor. He was a former Gulfsteam B1900 guy and thought he knew everything. So it's not peoples time low or high. It's what kind of attitude they have toward learning how to fly the airplane the way this particular airline wants you to fly it and not saying "at my airline we used to do things this way".
Just my 2 cents.....

Xeletro you hit the nail on the head! They deserved to be washed out with those attitudes.

Best idea yet!

Is there going to be more movement in the SAAB or CRJ900/200 out of MSP in the coming months?

I think it depends on two things:

#1 = when will the flowthrough start

#2 = will anyone from MSP on either Aircraft go to / be reloacted to ATL if a base is made their on either aircraft

Ouch! 3 years to turn around? Worst part is that actually sounds encouraging! Hope it is more like 3 months.

My guess is as long as you have not been told no, you are probably still under consideration for a class. With 150 apps a day, HR is not going to keep any folder open that they can close.
