Anyone else get notified of classes "officially" being cancelled? Diver, who was scheduled for Jan 5, said his was. Anyone in the later classes get a call?
The call I got was from somebody at Mesaba, a little after 6pm ET yesterday. I didnt recognize the number, so I didnt pick up, but the message left said that something came up and all pilot new hire classes have been canceled. She then went on to say that she doesnt have any further details at this time, but that I would hear from S.T. in HR soon.

Sent an email today to HR, they said everybody is in a pool for now, there is a meeting on the situation tomorrow with more to follow. It could go anywhere from this point. Who knows....

My best guess is there a "bigger picture" for Mesaba that is not ready for announcement. High morale, good performance, outstanding training section, reliable operations, award winning maintenance - these are the accomplishments you reward not punish. Sometimes short term trauma turns into long range benefits. I suggest if you were scheduled for a class and cancelled, don't take your name out of the pool.
Not surprised there's high morale when we're all gulping the kool-aid like this.

I have confirmation from a friend that they got the call from HR yesterday saying the Jan 5th class was canceled too...it's legit. I'm scheduled for March 2nd class...haven't heard anything yet but assume I'll get the call here after their meeting

I was in the 2/2 class and have not received a phone call yet. I guess they are taking awhile to let everyone know...
Are you trying to say that airline management decisions usually make sense?
What makes sense to the investors and stockholders may not make sense to the the employees. What makes sense to the employees may not make sense to the investors and stockholders. The hard part is finding what makes sense to both.
