Just throwing this out there. Anyone think maybe Mesaba and Skywest are staying fat on Delta's request because Delta expects to be able to s***can Freedom/Mesa from the court case that should be ruled on soon? Perhaps we are staying overstaffed to be able to increase hours to take over Mesa's flying. We could certainly increase the efficiency and block hours on the 900's. With a decent increase in hours we'd be properly staffed without needing to get more airplanes.

I don't know about the word "expects" but I would agree that both companies are keeping all trained pilots, regardless of current need, strictly for the fact that if, and or when Mesa gets kicked to the curb, they are ready to roll.

Skywest has to stay ready for two major players, which if something were to happen to Mesa could have a huge impact on them. But who knows we just have to wait and see if this thing blows up and then wait for the dust to settle.
