They can cut block hours (and subsuquently need less pilots) easiest at the W/O's. We have been told that Saab and 200 hours are decreasing and 900 is staying steady in the fall. It's been said over and over that there WILL be cuts in the DCI family. There will be less companies flying for Delta in the near future. The question is who stays and who goes.
If you plan for the worst case scenario then anything better is a bonus. If you plan for the best case scenario then if it doesn't pan out you're in trouble.

I agree with you on this with one limitation, time. After a decade or so of doing it, its better to just live frugally and ignore bad negative news all together until it actually happens. Makes for more happy days and possibly less unnecessary bad days if it never comes to fruition. Too many of us have had to constantly live under "threats" of bad times for too long. Its no way to live.
