Representation. . . .whatever. Hire your own representaton (It'll be better). If you are worried about breaking rules, 1) don't break them in the first place and 2) Hire great attorneys that will tortch the FAA or Company you work for, IF you really truely do get in trouble.
1) nobody ever tries to get in trouble... it happens to any and everybody. there are those that have and those that will.
2) do you know how much great attorneys cost? a "great" attorney is not the guy you see on tv that says "i dont get paid until you do." A great attorney, or better yet a team of attorneys, will require you to give up everything you have at a shot at getting your job back. if you dont believe me, ask the skywest pilot who spent almost $100,000 over an entire year fighting a wrongful sexual harrassment allegation to get his job back. Yes he got his job back, and no he didnt get his money back. Ellen you make me mad
Ellen is,,,, well not to smart. We all know that now. i don't think she has ever even flown for an airline.. now back to the story.
hey stick thanks for sharing. i know a captain here who had just done an overnight and finished at 8 in the morning. in our contract you have to have 10 hours of rest in base. well he only needed 8 to be legal again to fly some more and the company tried to make him do it. he said no, the company fired him, and now he is back on the line, full restitution, back pay, and a little bit more for pain and suffering..
i know of a few guys (not personally but through my friends who work at skywest) who have been fired at skywest and there is nothing they can do about it.

Care to share the circumstances surrounding their firing? Since being here I've heard of a lot of people doing a lot of not-so-smart things and all of them are still around.
Me too . . ., I know lots of Captains and I also know a Barista, a CEO, a Professor, a Manager at McDonalds, A physician, A Restauranteer, an Attorney, an Actor, et el!

I know (Eight) U.S. Attorneys who got fired, can't wait to see if they get full restitution and their job back.
You think huh? Okay . . . What specific items and happenings about these firings leads you to believe that they were justified. Simple, clear explainations will be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

They knew exactly what they were in for. Although, they're supposed to be bi-partisan public servicemen/women- they knew their job was politically motivated by those higher up. Much like Janet Reno played puppet master with her Attorneys, to promote the agenda of William Clinton and the far-left.
Seem's pretty clear. If were didn't follow instructions given by our superiors, we'd be gone too. Now is it fair? No. But that's life.
First off, I used to fly for ASA. ASA was a great company, and no longer is. Their pilot group is the only great thing left.
ALPA is not what Skywest needs. It’s been said many times that representation is what Skywest needs and I'm not disputing that fact. But ALPA would ruin what those pilots have worked for. I feel the only reason that ASA pilots want Skywest to vote in the union, is for the chance a merger were to happen. Then they would be protected. You do not care for Skywest's best interest, your just covering your own behind. Be a man and tell us the real reason you want ALPA at Skywest!
And your story about an intern in the cockpit flying your airplane, here’s the real story. Interns at ASA are granted access to the jump seat for all ASA flights. An intern jump seated on your flight. You were gun hoe on impressing this intern, so in mid-flight you got out of your seat, sat on your chart case and told the intern to take your seat. You had him click off the autopilot and make small turns, climbs, descents and so on. This is your reasoning why skywest should vote yes to ALPA, because they will save your job when you’re a complete jack@ss. Well then all pilots who are not PROFESSIONALS should vote yes to ALPA at Skywest.
I’ve rambled on too much. I’m a person who never posts, but I could not pass this chance up.
Stick: You are no professional, you really shouldn’t be giving advise to anyone, and you should have lost your job a long time ago.

Wow!?! After a look at your previous post i realized what i was dealing with so i probably should just ignore you but i can't resist. anyway what in the world does your last line (or any of the others for that matter) have to do with our subject?!? not to mention i would venture to guess that it didn't bother you when the previous administration fired over 90 us attorneys at one time without cause.
back to Skywest and ALPA. does anyone know what percentage of Skywest pilots are in favor of ALPA representation?
