You haven't learned that if they put something on your schedule that you like to call them and if its something you dont want not to call them so you have a better chance of losing it? They just took away a nice 4 day from me. They always take away my good trips and leave me the crappy ones. I still don't know how people can get displaced before they even start a trip.

Hey has anyone done the recurrent MV/LOE recently? I heard its changed as of the new year.

I haven't been flying much and was just trying to get a heads-up on what to expect. Any info would be appreciated, thanks.

If their aircraft doesn't make it into the base and there is nothing for them to fly they can get displaced before they start the trip. Scheduling will use a displaced pilot before they use a reserve. If you think about it, it does make sense to use the displaced pilot. They are getting paid to fly and if they use a reserve it could increase the chance of a reserve breaking guarantee and then the company would be losing money.

Didn't say I liked it but thats the way it works. Being a lineholder is great and getting the DS and being paid for your trip is great but sometimes it can bite you in the butt especially if you are displaced at your base.

MV - more of the same... W/S encounters, CAT I/ CAT II approaches (normal and hand-flown single-engine), V1 cuts, missed approaches, lo-vis taxi and T/O, etc.

LOE - the cities are new but you can expect the failures to be the same ones we keep seeing in the CRJ fleet. Think of the flappy things on the back of the wing that are always getting stuck in the wrong place and you're halfway there. And then there's always the list of "surprises" that the sim guys can pick from. Don't worry, they're all in the QRH. If you know where to look...

Same as always, know your procedures, limitations, and emergency items, and fly the plane the way the book says to fly the plane. Then "Good job, nothing to debrief, see you in another 9 months."

Hope this helps.
