ASA is going to do MCO flying as of right now...as for JFK 50 seater stuff, we may get more routes, but some of this flying will go unfilled as DL has said they are reducing domestic capacity. Gives everyone questions to ask our president on the tele-conference

You bring up a good point.

I feel many folks in our pilot group are anti-management (duh). More specifically, they are against what management has to say. I think this causes many people to avoid asking questions in the first place because they have a preconceived notion of disagreeing with the answer. I say ask away and keep putting them in the hot seat.

I think one of the main reasons DL called in quits with Mesa/Freedom is not only becuase of their shi**y on-time performance and completion factors, but I think DL just doesn't want to get all tied up with Mesa and their lawsuits they have going on. Now JO can use all those pilots coming from ERJ to staff his other planes to cover the flying. As far as us getting some flying out of this, I think we will see some additional routes out of JFK that F8 used to fly, especially since we are already there and set up and JFK being a big international gateway for DL.

I also think Delta and others didn't like what Johnny O did to Aloha. I would hate to see any Mesa employees on the street, but I stilL can't help but wonder, why haven't they gotten rid of him yet? The man is a LIABILITY!!!!

Most of the same places we do. If a city gets 4 flights a day, chances are we do one our two and Freedom does the other two.

Here are most of them (ERJ). I might be missing one or two, like Nantucket, which is only seasonal.

JFK-BOS, SYR, ALB, BUF, RDU, IAD, RIC, ORF, BDL, PWM, ROC, BWI, PHL

Basically the same cities we fly to currently. At least if we get to pick up the slack it would be additional flight hours.

My guess (just not getting my hopes up) is daddy D picks another carrier to move into JFK so they don't have only one company in the base.

I wouldnt be surprised to see that also. However another strike is not gonna happen anytime soon as our contract is not up for negotiations for another 3 years. Plus time to actually go through the RLA process and be released to self help it would be 5 or more years. So they could have comair replace most of those routes now without a threat of a slow down or strike. Then they could slowly replace those routes with another carrier later on down the road.

Of course im sure im dreaming!!

I guess we will see what happens. If this 'pulling' Freedom is effective immediately, we should see some flights show up in Open Time (like the BOS-BGR after BigSky), I think it is too late to incorporate them into the May bid packet now, that's assuming WE are taking over the flights. I think it would be stupid to bring in another DCI carrier into JFK. Maybe CHQ will take some over in their ERJs...
