Tenth Consecutive 100 Percent Completion Day Makes 45 for 2008
Streak for most consecutive days in a month continues
Thanks to three 100 percent completion days on Friday, Saturday and Sunday, Comair has a streak of 10 100 percent days. Comair now has 45 100 percent completion days for 2008, only three away from Comair President John Selvaggio's goal to double the record set in 2007.
The excellent weekend performance saw Comair achieve all of its performance goals. Weekend operational highlights include:
October 12, 2008
Your elcome JS and DAL, now please hand out our furlough notices, take our money, freeze our pay, take our routes, close our bases, demolish our concourse...and BTW, your welcome for carrying the load during the hard times of 911 when we used make money for you. But hey no hard feelings...
What you are saying does not make much sense. I understand your frustration with what is going on with the company now. But why would you think that Delta would just close Comair because they are paying a few senior guys top dollars. It would be a lot less expensive for Delta to buy the senior pilots out even if they had to pay them their career potential earnings.
Frustration is only the result of what the reality that has happened in the last four years and continues to happen. Comair will be done by end of 2009 if not earlier in some sort or fashion, at least in the flying aspect. From fleet reduction to no growth, management tactics, route structure and scheduling, high position resignations for the last two years, writing is on the wall. Comair is a credit card debit and will be consolidated/liquidated with the merger. That is reality.

One rumor I keep hearing is that Comair may go to an all ground services company, on the other hand, once this "Messa" stuff washes, the growth is gonna be back on. I think after the merger and rumor has, Comair is to be merged with Mesaba or be a part of the newly formed holding company.
No one knows for sure, but if they were going to pull down Comair flying, methinks more troubling indications would be developing rapidly in the company.
After all, if "Messa" had lost the injunction, in all honesty, would we be disscussing this? I think we ought to wait and see what happens after the court date, or "Messa" files bankrupcy, which is becoming more a reality day by day.

Went out of my mind. Back in 5 minutes.
Comair has 100% completion days bc when something happens with a flight......and the pax are all moved to another airline bc they've been waiting HOURS..... Comair Junior mans/displaces an entire crew to fly the EMPTY plane on the leg........at midnight....after a long day flying already

What part doesn't make sense? I did not say that Delta would shut Comair down based only on the fact that we have a very expensive payroll, though it is something that can be handled very easily during a restructure. Aside from the expensive guys at the top, we have expensive guys all around. 5 and 6 year FOs does not help a regional airline in terms of being competitive. Also, there will always be bad blood between Delta and Comair. Not saying that the strike shouldn't have happened, but it did and it was a major blow to Delta. I believe Delta will drive Comair into the ground out of spite if nothing else.
I also believe if there were larger plans for Comair we would have a better coach and not some crusty has been and a used car salesman. JS is simply making us a bed to take our final nap.

If you truly believe this place has no future, why not quit now?
I just tried calling HR to talk to them about unemployment benifits. There answering machine stated, "Due to SHORT STAFFING, you may not get a call back right away."
If you truly believe this place has no future, why not quit now?
I am actually working on something else. I can assure you if it works out, I will be out of here and I won't look back.
Hopefully I am wrong! I hope you have contingency plans in the event that it doesn't. With the current state of the economy and this industry, if you don't have a back up plan you are playing with fire.
