[quote=TurboDog;482138]Rumor is that the only flying United has available is 50 seat lift and OH isn't interested in that. United is limited to the number of 70 seat aircraft providing lift, so it doensn't appear that we will get anything from them.

I believe it is true that Comair turned down flying for UA because the length of the contract was not very long (less than 12 months, maybe?). (Doesn't make sense to put the time/money/effort into starting up ops with another carrier, only to cease to fly for them as soon as everything is up and running.) Upon turning down that contract, I believe we were invited by UA to bid on a more long-term RFP and that is where we stand right now--waiting for it to be awarded to someone.

I agree that we probably have a bid in, however unless someone drops out there will be no room for more 70+ flying. As of right now it's under scope, so unless something changes Comair still stands on it's knees begging for more money to buy another crack rock to get them by for another day.

I would still like someone either in management or at ALPA to comment on the exponential growth at NW's wholly-owned regionals as of late. After the DL/NW merger Compass and Mesaba will be DCI carriers. Our 2007 TA had stipulations in it for Comair to receive a percentage of "unawarded aircraft" that started at 40% in 2007 and decreased in 10% increments each year. Yet one more reason I voted "no" on that piece of ****e. And now we sit and watch soon-to-be-but-not-quite-yet DCI carriers getting new airframes as we furlough and park airframes. Once again we're made to look like fools by lawyers and manager that at the end of the day are smarter than we are.

So while we bicker about ASAP and launch ad hominems at the same targets each day I'm reminded of a playground fight: "I know you are but what am I....my dad is bigger than your dad....am too...are not..."

Now, excuse me while I go pay my $20.00 merger assessment fee......

If you guys think Delta is going to give us (Mesa) any more flying, you're nuts.

I'm sure someone can dredge up the transcript of the Delta earnings call, but Delta's CEO made it very clear that Delta wants nothing to do with us once the court issues are resolved.

The only thing I saw in the conference call was that Delta intends to "rigorously fight the Mesa lawsuit."

FWIW, they also talked about how beneficial it will be to have 3 wholly-owned carriers after the merger, should the need arise to reduce domestic capacity even more.

Those are some very good points that I hadn't thought about. I wonder if they are trying to do some pre-merger balancing based on knowledge that they may finally have to award some flying to Comair at some point. I can imagine it must be hard for you Comair guys to think anything positive after so many times getting your hopes up when nothing seems to materialize. I would just love to see something good happen for the pilots at Comair!!!
