Currently ASA still operates out of SLC, yes they don't technically have a crew domicile there but that doesn't mean much. SKW Inc made a mistake when they closed the door to early on ASA in SLC but they probably thought things would work out (ASA's TA) a little sooner than later; boy where they wrong and I’m sure Mgmnt learned their lesson. I do feel that Mgmnt wants SKW to fly the western DAL flying and ASA the eastern. If you really look at it, it makes sound business sense.
All you boys/girls at ASA are much better off with SKW Inc than DAL. History will prove this to be so, there's only one Mgmnt team better than ours and that's SWA. No I'm not drinking Kool-Aid, history has proven this to be true. (Maybe a little Kool-Aid, I do like Fruit Punch, but no more than a SWA’s pilot)

From what I hear Skywest Inc. wants ASA to be east coast and Skywest in the west.

True, the first two ATL CR9's had ASA on the side of them. But remember that flying isn't a pilot decision; it's Mgmnt that makes the final call. Since SKW "had their $hit together;" that meaning we are controlled by SAPA which is ran by pilots paid for by Mgmnt (tell me how they can represent a pilot group when Mgmnt has control of their livelihood) and can jump when ever needed, so that’s why Mgmnt had us step in. No the flying wasn't ASA's, it was SKW Inc's. Mgmnt tried to use the flying as a carrot and ASA didn’t fall for it. I wish I could say that my brethren here at SKW wouldn’t fall for the same trick, but they do on more than a consistent bases.
Now that things are improving at ASA we'll have to see what happens, but understand one thing, JA and Co will run the show. No pilot group, SKW or ASA, will control them. The sooner knuckle heads at SKW figure out that Mgmnt is only out for Mgmnt, the sooner we can start building some pilot unity and I mean unity across the board. First it has to start with SKW gaining unity then we need to unite with our brothers at ASA. That's the only way we can stop Mgmnt from "Whipsawing" us against each other.

Yes, upgrades will be completely unaffected by ATL. 38 daily ATL departures is nothing compared to the almost 2000 daily departures SKW has (does not include ASA). If they close ATL less than 1% of the pilot group will even care.
