FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit
some airlines require a FCC Restricted Radiotelephone Operator Permit. how do I get one?

www.fcc.gov
Id search for aviation or something like that, but make sure its the right one. gotta get an FRN number and make sure it is the RR (i believe) Should be about $55. Submit the form and wait a week for it to appear in the mailbox. |
I actually just bought mine two days ago. You have to register with the FCC to get the FRN number that U-I pilot is talking about. Yes, its $55, and you can pay via credit card online. They ask you a few questions online, but nothing major, just "can you speak engish" etc... its kinda dumb if you ask me, another way for the government to get $55 bucks outa you. Anyway, cheers.

The captain HAS to have one, not the FO, but some companies just make it a hiring prereq. Get it online like the other folks said.
